This weeks tanda comes from DJ Chris from the UK. Chris is a regular contributor to the blog with his tandas and comments. Check out the previous tandas from DJ Chris and other guest DJ's. Here's what he said about the tanda:

"DJs who find La guinada overly exotic may like to substitute Sans souci 1944 (Spotify/Deezer).

I played this tanda [a while back] at the delightful Milonga Pasional, the longest-running weekend milonga in my home city Cambridge, UK. You can see the full set for that evening here."

Thank you Chris!

Let's just say for dancing it is certainly not as dead-centre mainstream as the others.

    2. thomas kroeter thanks for "dead-centre mainstream". ill try to translate it into german. this dcm-stuff is what makes so many edo-milongas so deadly boaring. by the way: many mixing djs dont have more courage in neo-or-non-music. for me la guinada sounds great and very interesting to dance to.

This DCM stuff is what makes so many milongas attractive to the tango dancer mainstream. For people who find mainstream milongas boring there are fringe events such as the tango discos that play neuvo, electronic etc.

"many mixing djs dont have more courage in neo-or-non-music."

Agreed. That's because many DJs are playing for mainstream dancers who would boo them off if they did. No amount of DJ courage can make dancers happy with music they don't like.

      That's good to hear. Thanks!
