As a dj and a dancer I have enjoyed the recordings of De Angelis from the 50's with Larroca (and some of Godoy) more than his 40's era with Dante, Martel and Ruiz. However this is music that will grow on you and now during my second stay in Buenos Aires I've really fallen for De Angelis for good. While tangos from De Angelis (the valses are more popular) and somewhat also D'Agostino are played less in milongas in Europe, they are a necessary main ingredient of milongas in Buenos Aires.
