Tanda of the Week 21 / 2011 -
Dj Stefan Ok (milonga)

1. Francisco Lomuto / Jorge Omar - "Qué Tiempo aquel" 1938
2. Pedro Laurenz / Juan Carlos Casas - "Milonga Compadre" 1938
3. Edgardo Donato / Horacio Lagos - "La milonga que faltaba" 1938

Here's another tanda from a guest dj, Stefan Ok from Germany and here's what he had to say about this tanda:

"I always wanted to play the milonga "Qué Tiempo aquel", which is for me one of the best milongas ever, because it has a unique light swing which is quite different from the deep (candombe) beat of some milongas. Mixing it with Lomuto Milongas is possible "No hay terra..." or "Azabache" but won't keep the charming spirit of this milonga, so i prefer to play it with registrations from other orchestras from the same year. If you listen to this tanda you'll know what i mean. "Milonga Compadre" is not that wellknown, but it fits almost perfect. The last Milonga of Donato is a real burner and can be changed with other Donato Milongas too."

  3. As an alternative, you can also use "Asi es la milonga" by Tanturi, as the second song.
